BOLING

ALVAREZ
   Roy Alvarez went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 17, 1999 at the age of 54. He was born on February 18, 1945.
   He is survived by his son: Roy Michael Alvarez, Jr. of California; daughter: Tammy Alvarez of California; his mother: Lily and Gil Navarez of California; his father: Frank N. Alvarez of Corpus Christi, TX.; three brothers: Robert & Flora Alvarez of Corpus Christi, Frank & Gloria Alvarez of California, Richard & Lucy Alvarez of Corpus Christi; three half-brothers: Danny Alvarez, Eddie & Rosie Alvarez, Frank & Sandra Alvarez all of Corpus Christi; two half-sisters: Yvonne & Hedayat Hossanzodeh of Houston, Helen & Rudy Amador of Corpus Christi. Numerous nieces & nephews.
   The family will be receiving friends from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday, November 19, 1999 at Memorial Funeral Home, Holly Chapel with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. that same evening.
   Rites of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 20, 1999 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church.
   Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
   Pallbearers will be Danny Alvarez, Eddie Alvarez, Frank Alvarez, Jr., and
   nephews, Richard Alvarez, Jr., Robert Alvarez, Jr., & Ricky Alvarez, III.

ANDRADE
   Noemi C. Andrade, 70, passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 1999. She was born to Daniel Cantu and Lorenza Briones on February 10, 1929 in Bryan, Texas.
   She was active as a Den Mother, Cub Scouts mom, and a PTA member. She was also very active in a local bowling league. She loved gardening, needle point, and walking along the bay front. She was a very active person who had a large family that always kept her busy. Her children always came first. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed by those whose lives she touched.
   She is survived by five sons, Danny Andrade, George and Cathy Andrade both of Hazel Park, Michigan, Robert and Dolly Andrade, Mark and Illia Andrade both of Corpus Christi, Texas and Ronnie and Susan Andrade of Round Rock, Texas; two daughters, Mary and Joe Garcia and Diana and Don Jones both of Corpus Christi, Texas; 19 grandchildren: Lori, Morgan, Carmen, Tessa, Tanna, Tidus, Yvette, Naomi, Monica, Mark Jr., Jennifer, Amanda, Gabriel, Jacob, Edward, Melissa, April, Michael and Michelle; five great-grandchildren: Alyssa, Julissa, Jorge Jr., Yolanda, and Alaina; two brothers, Guadalupe (Ann) Cantu of Waukesha, Wisconsin and Cipriano Cantu of Corpus Christi, Texas; and a sister, Rosita and Ramiro Salinas of Corpus Christi, Texas.
   She is preceded in death by a daughter Yolanda Lee Pena.
   Visitations will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, November 19, 1999 with a rosary to be recited at 8;00 p.m. that evening at Corpus Christi Funeral Home.
   Funeral Mass will be recited on Saturday, November 20, 1999 at 8:30 a.m. at St. Cyril & Methodius Church.

CANTU
   BEEVILLE - Adan Cantu, 65, passed away on November 17, 1999 in Beeville, Texas. He was born on May 13, 1934 in Beeville, Texas. Mr. Cantu retired from the Texas Highway Department where he was employed for 32 years.
   He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria L. Cantu on November 5, 1998; father, Aniceto Cantu; mother Angelita Garcia; and one sister, Julia C. Arguijo.
   He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Mary Esther (Rick) Morales of Cypress, Texas and Mrs. Iris (Joe) Montez of Beeville; sisters, Estella Martinez, Francis Loya and Elvira Garza all of Beeville; and two grandchildren.
   Rosary be recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday November 19, 1999 at Trevino Funeral Home Chapel.
   Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. Saturday November 20, 1999 at Our Lady of Victory Church with Rev. Henry Heese officiating.
   Burial to follow at Our Lady of Victory #2.
   Pallbearers will be: Louis Sanchez, Jr., David Sanchez, Felipe Martinez, Jr., Nieves Botello, Jr., David Perez, and Arturo Perez.
   Honorary pallbearers will be, Jason Loya, Nick Rivas, and Louis Sanchez III.

CHILDS
   James Brian Childs, 42, a resident of Ingleside On The Bay, Texas for the past 10 years, passed away Wednesday, November 17, 1999 at a Corpus Christi hospital. He was born April 24, 1957 in Monahans, Texas to James and Lillian Childs. An employee of Weaver Construction in Corpus Christi, he was preceded in death by his mother, Lillian Childs; his grandmothers, Margaret N. Brandenburg and Mary M. Childs.
   He is survived by his son, James Thomas Childs of Clear Lake, Texas; two daughters, Melissa Childs of Houston, and Sarah Childs of Ingleside On The Bay, Texas; his father, James Elwood Childs of New Braunfels, and his uncle, Bill Brandenburg of Deer Park, Texas.
   Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, November 11, 1999 at 10:00 a.m. at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home, Aransas Pass with Rev. David Vernon officiating.
   Graveside services will be conducted Monday, November 22, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Park East Cemetery in League City, Texas with Rev. Jim Smith officiating.

CROUCH
   Willie "Bill" Crouch, 96, passed away Tuesday, November 16, 1999 in a local hospital. Willie was a life long Texan and a Corpus Christi resident for the past 48 years.
   He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years Selman Reid-Crouch and his daughter, Mildred Crouch-Ross. Until recently, he had been an active member of several local dance clubs and the Moose Lodge. During his earlier life, he farmed and his favorite pastime was fishing. He enjoyed playing dominos with his family and friends. He was, and will always be an inspiration to all the lives he touched and will be dearly missed.
   He is survived by his daughter Dorothea Muratta of Corpus Christi; his granddaughters, Janice (Greg) Berke-Davis of Sugar Land, Texas, Lisa Muratta, Lori Muratta both from Houston, Texas, Stacy Muratta from College Station, Texas; and his grandson Dr. Paul (Cindy) Muratta of Gadsden, Alabama. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Matthew, Brian, Kyle, Lindsey, Kelly, and Shannon.
   The Funeral Service is scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 19, 1999 at Cage-Mills Funeral Home with a visitation period from 9:00 a.m. until service time also on Friday, November 19, 1999.
   Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.

FISHER
   Donald Eugene Fisher, 65, passed away November 13, 1999.
   A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, November 21, 1999 at 3:00 p.m. at Trevino Funeral Home.

HYNDS
   Geraldine Hynds, 82, passed away on November 17, 1999.
   Services are under the direction of Bobby Trevino.

KALER
   Roy Lester Kaler, 48, of Corpus Christi, passed away on Sunday, November 14, 1999. He was born on August 27, 1951 in Corpus Christi to Lester E. and Margaret V. Kaler.
   He is survived by two sons, Shawn S. Kaler and Chad W. Kaler both of Sumner, Washington; one daughter, Carly M. Kaler of Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Becky (Billy) Watt of Corpus Christi and Penny (Larry) Taber of Orange Grove, Texas; his nieces, Leah, Jillian, Lessa and Shalyn; his nephew, Loren; He is also survived by extended family, Carol Kaler, Sylvia and Joe Roddy, Alice and John Lopez, Ruthie Smith and Margaret Ann Narvaez and family, Dan and Shannon Schumann and co-workers of Schumann Service Company and a host of caring friends.
   Memorial Services will be held at the Taber Home, 302 South Dibrell, Orange Grove, Texas on Saturday, November 20, 1999 at 12:00 p.m. till 3:00 p.m.
   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a fund for Roy's children.

KOONCE
   Long-time Taft resident Reva Koonce left to be with the Lord on November 15, 1999, after a brief illness. Mrs. Koonce was born Reva Jo Brashear on October 14, 1927, in Walters, Oklahoma, the eighth of ten children. As a young girl, she moved from Hereford, Texas, to Taft with her family. On April 28, 1944, Reva married her childhood sweetheart and life-long Taft resident, Johnny L. Koonce, while he was on a brief leave from service in the Pacific arena for the U.S. Navy during World War II.
   A member of First Baptist Church of Taft for forty years, Mrs. Koonce will be remembered as a gifted Sunday school teacher and active supporter of mission work around the world. Her family will forever remember her as a committed Christian and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Part of the heritage she leaves behind is a deep appreciation of God's creation and a timeless legacy of faith, love, and prayer, which she shared so generously with others.
   Mrs. Koonce is survived by her devoted, loving husband of fifty-five years, Johnny L. Koonce; her son, Johnny Randal (Betty) Koonce, her daughter, Kay (Larry) Koonce Berthold; her grandchildren Yvonne (Sam) Koonce Parks, Yvette D. Koonce, Randal D. Koonce, Tara (Chris) Berthold Cliburn, Courtni (Steven) Berthold Snyder, and Ryan H. Berthold; and her great-granddaughters Kathleen Marcelle Parks, McKenlie Ryanne Cliburn, Taylor Morganne Snyder, and Hannah Rebekah Snyder.
   A private memorial service celebrating her life was held for the immediate family on Wednesday, November 17, 1999 and was officiated by Rev. Dale Pogue. The family thanks the community for its prayers during Mrs. Koonce's illness.
   In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the World Missions Fund of the First Baptist Church of Taft, 420 Green Ave., Taft, TX 78390.

RAIFORD
   Velma Raiford passed away November 16, 1999 after a long illness. She was 72.
   Survivors include one daughter, Gayle Spence and one brother, Gordon W. Smith; two nieces and one nephew.
   Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, November 19, 1999 at New Funeral Options. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 20, 19999 at Rose Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.

THOMPSON
   Freddie Virginia Warriner Thompson, 87, passed away in San Antonio on November 18, 1999. She was born February 22, 1912, to Dr. and Mrs. Richard B. Warriner of Corinth, Mississippi.
   After finishing high school in Corinth, Mrs. Thompson attended the University of Arkansas where she was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. She graduated from The University of Arkansas in May of 1934.
   She married H. Durward Thompson in Corinth, Mississippi, on December 25, 1934, and was married to him for 61 years until his death in 1996.
   They lived in Corpus Christi for 26 years where they raised their family, moving to Kingsville in 1972. In 1996, she and her husband moved to San Antonio.
   While in Corpus Christi, Mrs. Thompson was an adult leader in the junior high Sunday school department and in Christian Adventure Camp (CAC) at First United Methodist Church where the family actively worshiped for many years. She was President of the Mother's Club of Boy Scout Troop 3 while her sons were active in scouting. Mrs. Thompson also served as President of the Texas A&M Mother's Club in Corpus Christi. She was a member of the Monday Forum and was active in the Chi Omega alumnae organization for many years both in Corpus Christi and Kingsville.
   While living in Kingsville, she was a member of First United Methodist Church and participated in the University Women's Club and Bible study group.
   Mrs. Thompson is survived by her three sons, H. Durward (Hope) Thompson, Jr. of Corpus Christi, Richard S. (Pattie) Thompson of San Antonio, and Gregory W. (Tana) Thompson of Houston. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Trey Thompson, Ginny Thompson, Sara T. (Mike) Szymanski, Scott (Mindy) Thompson, Forrest Thompson, Taylor Thompson, Hunter Thompson, a beloved sister-in-law, Ellen Warriner of Tupelo, Mississippi, a nephew and two nieces.
   She was greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
   Friends may make memorials to the Frances & Tommy Reeves Christian Adventure Camp Trust Fund at First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1838, Corpus Christi, 78403, or to the charity of their choice.
   Funeral services will be held at First United Methodist Church in Corpus Christi at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 20, 1999.
   Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
   A reception for friends will be held at First United Methodist Church following the interment
   Pallbearers will be Trey Thompson, Mike Szymanski, Scott Thompson, Forrest Thompson, Clyde Allen of Kingsville, and Johnny Moore of Medina.

TIJERINA
   Irene Tijerina, age 49, passed away on November 18, 1999.
   Services are under the direction of Bobby Trevino.
