IceRays Bio: Alain Savage, forward

  • Personal: Fifth-year pro from Montreal, Quebec

  • You participated in celebrating National French Week at King High School last Friday. What was that like?
It was pretty fun. The students were pretty nice. They asked me a couple questions about hockey and about my life. Then I went to talk in front of everyone at their pep rally. It was kind of embarrassing, but it was all right.

  • When you score a goal, you twirl your stick and then pretend it's a sword and shove it back in a pretend holster at your belt. What's the story behind this?
I've been doing that since pee-wee hockey. I saw Chi-Chi Rodriguez do it in golf and I liked it so I started doing it.

  • What was the last book you read?
Mario - the Mario Lemieux Story

  • What CD would we find in your CD player right now?
       Either Green Day or Offspring.

  • What were you like in high school (be honest)?
I was just doing my own thing. Hockey was my life. I played two years of soccer, but it was mostly hockey.

  • What was the first album you bought with your own money?
       Michael Jackson's Thriller.

  • What would your hockey dream game be like?
It would be the seventh game of the finals, in overtime, and the team gets a penalty shot. The coach sends me in and I score and we win the championship.
