Gloria Gallegos Anzaldua, 53, of Robstown, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 1999.
She is survived by two daughters Monica (Ricky) Garcia, Noemi Anzaldua; one son, Juan Anzaldua; two grandchildren Jazmine Martinez and Matthew Anzaldua all of Robstown; six brothers: Feliciano (Yolanda) Gallegos of Windcrest, Texas, Hector (Hilda) Gallegos of San Antonio, Texas, Enrique (Mary) Gallegos of Abeline, Texas, Esteban (Delma) Gallegos, Ernesto (Linda) Gallegos, Angel Gallegos all of Robstown; four sisters: Amelia (Israel) Cantu, Aurora (Avelino) Garcia, Lydia Gallegos and Socorro Gallegos all of Robstown.
The family will be receiving friends from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday, December 2, 1999 at Robstown Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.
Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 2, 1999 at Robstown Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.
Rites of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 3, 1999 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church.
Interment will follow at Memorial Park.
CORPUS CHRISTI - J.D. Borden, 60, of Edna, died Thursday, November 25, 1999. He was born July 10, 1939 in Rosebud, Texas to the late Jack David and Ruby Lee Gibbs Borden.
He was a manager and part owner of several oilfield companies. He served in the United States Air Force for four years. He was a Baptist and also a Master Mason.
Mr. Borden is survived by his wife, Rikki Borden of Edna; children, Mike Borden of Corpus Christi, John Borden of Victoria, Tammy Parker of Corpus Christi and Neeco Garza of Edna; eight grandchildren; sisters Ruby Rogers of Cuero and Scarlet Hutchinson of Rockport.
He was preceded in death by parents; brothers Tommy and Bobby Ray Borden.
A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 4, 1999 at the Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Gilbert officiating.
Memorial Contributions may be made to M.D. Anderson Cancer Research, Hospice of South Texas or Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rondo Davidson, Mike Garza, A.C. Johnson, Charles Mitchell, Steve Parker, Jim Preston, Dick Teachout and Ralph Westbrook.
FALFURRIAS - Bessie Hancock, age 87, of Corpus Christi, formerly from Falfurrias passed away Tuesday, November 30, 1999.
She was a devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Bessie was an avid reader who had a thirst for learning. She enjoyed gardening. Bessie was a life long member of the Methodist Church and taught Sunday School.
Bessie is survived by her two sons, Luid Hancock and wife Cecilia of Corpus Christi, Larry Hancock of San Antonio; four grandchildren: Lisa Jimenez and husband Michael of San Antonio, Carla Royder and husband Foy of San Antonio, L.T. Hancock of Corpus Christi, Jim Hancock of San Antonio; two great-grandchildren, Connor and Michael Jimenez both of San Antonio.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Leamon Hancock; parents Seth and Catherine Townsend; brother William Townsend and sisters, Catherine Beaversdorf, Gertrude Anderson and Pearl Saenz.
A visitation will be held Thursday, December 2, 1999 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Howard-Williams-Turcotte Funeral Home Chapel in Falfurrias.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 3, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Falfurrias.
Interment will follow at the Falfurrias Burial Park.
On the morning of November 30, 1999, Our precious son James Alan Hickey was called to his eternal home after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born May 26, 1984 in Round Rock, Texas. He attended school in Round Rock. James collected baseball cards and memorabilia, and loved challenges and life.
James is survived by his Mother, Linda Hickey of Round Rock; Father, Billy Ray Hickey and wife Carol Ann of Austin; Brother, Billy Hickey of Round Rock; Sister, Stacy Hickey of Austin; Grandparents, Bill R. Hickey of Austin, and Robert and Carol Ockenfels of Corpus Christi; great-grandmother, Margaret Dale of Bakersfield, California; Aunts, Patty (Joe) Magee of Austin, Debbie (Larry) Burk of Corpus Christi; Uncle, Joe (Rose) Hickey of Kingsville; Cousins, Michael Magee of Austin, Jayme Burk of Corpus Christi.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be recited at 2:00 p.m. Friday at St. Williams Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Joel McNeil officiating.
Burial will follow at Capital Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Carrie L. Jones, 84, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 1999 in a local hospital.
She was a member of St. Matthews Baptist Church and served on the Usher Board until her illness.
She was preceded in death by her daughter and two grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons, Arthur Eugene Lott of Corpus Christi, Texas and Percy Lott of Houston, Texas; nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 3, 1999 at the Seaside Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 4, 1999 at the St. Matthew Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
Thomas Lott, Kenneth Lott, Thurman Logan, Thaylan Logan, Rodney Lott and Baron Lott will serve as pallbearers; Arthur Eugene Lott, Percy Lott and Baron Lott, Jr. will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Pearl Logue, 94, passed away Wednesday, December 1, 1999.

Thomas Henry (Squirrel) Lott, 81, passed away on November 30, 1999 after a long illness. Thomas was born to the union of Ellis James Lott and Helen Jones Lott on July 21, 1918. Thomas worked at various jobs including for Berry Construction for 19 years until retirement. He was an active member until he became ill. Thomas was always helping people.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Luther Lott and two sisters, Fanny Kennerson and Willie May Collier.
Services are pending with Corpus Christi Funeral Home.
Lawrence "Larry" Ray, 84, passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 30, 1999 in a local hospital after a lengthy illness.
Larry is survived by his wife of 61 years, Evelyn Ray; son, Larry M. Ray of Gulfport, Mississippi; daughter, Dianne Nichols of Ingleside, Texas; grandsons, Tom Nichols II of Aransas Pass, Texas and David Ray of New Orleans, Louisiana; granddaughter, Lauren Nichols of Ingleside, Texas; and three great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends on Friday, December 3, 1999 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Seaside Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 4, 1999 in the Seaside Chapel.
Interment will follow in the Seaside Memorial Park.

Lucy Setliff, a homemaker, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 1999 at her home with her family at her side at the age of 76. Lucy was born December 29, 1922 in Beaumont, Texas and moved to Port Arthur, Texas at an early age and attended school there.
She is survived by William Ernest Setliff, beloved husband of 48 years, daughter, Karen Ann Setliff, son, John Marcus Setliff and grandchild Dylin William Setliff all of Corpus Christi, two brothers, Joe (Norma) Scaff of Houston, Texas and Louis (Barbara) Scaff of Roundrock, Tx, two sisters, Selma Scaf and Evelyn McPherson both of Port Arthur, Texas.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 3, 1999 at 2:00pm at St. John's United Methodist Church.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Vic Vickrey, Arnold Kolpack, Travis Williams, John Joseph, Virgil Conard, Arnold Gonzales, H.B. Emery, Judge Vernon Harville, Bill Hedrick, Harold Menke, Jack Pagen, Phil Boeck, and Mike Kramer.

KINGSVILLE - Mrs. Lucille "Lucy" Williams, age 85, a longtime resident of Kingsville, Texas, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 1999, in Alice, Texas. Mrs. Williams, a retired nurse, had been employed with the Kleberg County Hospital for over 20 years. She had worked for the Kleberg County Human Services and Planned Parenthood. She was an active member of the American Red Cross.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Williams, Sr.; and son, Robert Lee Williams, Jr.
Mrs. Williams is survived by one daughter, Edna Williams Ybarra of Kingsville; two sisters, Josephine Guerra of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Faye Clegg of Alice, Texas; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 2, 1999, at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 3, 1999 at St. Martin's Catholic Church with Fr. Jim Foelker, O.M.I., as celebrant.
Burial will follow in Kingsville at Chamberlain Cemetery.
